The Nevada Old Timers is saddened to report the passing of our friend, club member and fellow racer, John Dziminski. God Speed. John Michael Dziminski, Sr., 67, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 in Reno, NV with his family by his side.
Born in Omaha, NE, attended Omaha South High School then went on to join the Navy at 17 and served in Vietnam. Everyone knew his love for the outdoors, fishing, hunting, racing motorcycles, running marathons, Reno Air Races and taking care of his family first and foremost. He loved life. He lived it hard and lived it well.
Preceded in death by John, Jr., his son, mother, Stella, and father, Stanley Dziminski. Survived by his loving wife, Laura; brother, Stanley Dzieminski; sister, Liz Neal; son, Brian Dziminski (Sandy); daughter, Carol Zucco (Scott); mother of his sons, Lorrie Hadlock; step- sons, Brian Cheek (Sharon) and Gary Cheek (Kristeen); 7 grand- children; 3 step-grandchildren; 2 nieces, Cyd Hall and Diane Bolding; 4 great nieces and nephews, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Lover of God, family, Country and Knights of Columbus.
Visitation will be held on Sunday. September 14 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at Walton's Funeral Home, 875 W. 2nd Street, Reno, followed by a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, September 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, 14075 Mount Vida St., Reno (Stead), NV. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.
