Who would love to see something like this? I know I would! I am so sick of the off-track competition and fighting that has gone on over the past year. Here is a way we can support each other and play as a team. For those that want to race every weekend this would be great. For those who want to support the tracks you like, you can do that. For those who want to support the sanction you prefer, you can do that. Race one series, race both, race tracks you like. EVERYONE would be able to participate in both series and still have a chance at a championship. If you would like to see something like this then email the promoters and club officers. Maybe they can get together and work something out as a team of MX brothers and sisters. Bring the family back into the sport.

This post is NOT about laying blame for the way things are. This is about making MX better. I am tired of my friends being on two sides, and not seeing everyone in one weekend at the races. The fun is not there now. Up-and-comers have to try to decide which side to go to for their possible career. Fellow campers do not see each other to shoot the breeze. Sides have been chosen, and feelings hurt.


We are split. We should be ONE.

I really don't understand your dream schedule. I am pretty sure that the Nevada Old Timers (or anybody else) would not be interested in holding a race on June 24th. That is the same weekend as the Mammoth race.

Your dream schedule does have a lot of racing with no conflicting dates and no dual sanctioned events. If that was your goal, then I guess you have demonstrated that anybody with a keyboard and a calandar can dream up a schedule.

But, there are a lot of other forces that dictate date preferences for different tracks. As an example, Lovelock may want to schedule their race to coincide with Lovelocks Pioneer weekend festivities. Hawthorne may want to schedule their race on the same weekend as their Armed Forces weekend celebration. The Nevada Old Timers will hold our Old Timer International race on Labor day weekend and we will be holding a local race on the weekend before that.

There are many other examples and those are the things that should be discussed at the meetings of the sanctioning bodies when they create a series race schedule.

Bob, I don't think he was trying to set a schedule. I think what he was trying to say is can all the promoters and clubs get together and support each other. Make a schedule that will benefit the riders. You will have those that will race every race and those that will only race certain races. Can something like what Dave has put out happen? I don't think so as long as there is no communication. Not all tracks have to have the same amount of races either. Do like it use to be, pick dates based on seniority. Set the dates for the entire year so everyone can plan. If one promoter or club does not want to participate then that is ok also. I asked a OTHG officer recently if they would ever think about supporting a MxWest race and he said not at this moment. We will see! That gave me some hope that things could be worked out. I may be dreaming.

In the short amount of time that SMRA formed there are over 600 card holders. And with in those card holders most of them hold two to four different sanctioning body cards. So the words that we hear over and over, "The riders have to choose" (referring to mxwest and smra).Everyone has to choose what race they are going to in the weekend weather it be here in Nevada or in California. After the SMRA schedule was posted and flyer's were out MXWEST posted a tentative schedule that was great. most everyone was happy . If you wanted to race both series it was due able. A lot of people were excited. Until the real race dates were posted for MXWEST. Dual rounds and races ran on top of others. And that meant, "The riders had to choose" what race they wanted to go to. We all have to continue to, "Choose" where we want to race each weekend. My point is that as long as Nevada does not run races on top of each other it won't matter who the sanctioning body is. For my boys it not weather its a MXWEST race or a SMRA race the deciding factor is how much money is in the bank race day! ;D

Jdal, that is what I am talking about! Get all the players together and make it happen. Communication! Communication! I hear about one side and you hear about another. None of us has the real story. I will race both clubs but if I have to choose then it will be the track I like the best. Stead vs. Hawthorne = Stead! Wind-a-mucca vs Estreet = Wind-a-mucca. The only reason I went to Stead was becuase of the chance at a championship. As far as the dual events.... I did not see any problem with that. Everything went pretty good. Got to see some old friends and even had a chance to talk with a few OTHG members about things. We also have to think about the vendors. Don't you think they would like to have a better showing than what both clubs have had. Jetforce spends a lot of money just to support us riders. With two clubs having races ontop of each other is not good. Maybe Sierra MX and MxWest could get together and see what could be worked out. Just a suggestion.
