Stirred Me Up
Hi Bobby:
Here is a message that has created havoc and I shared it with the IOTMX Reps but it got so involved and emotional (me) that I have to share it with the rest of the OTMX world. I am not sharing the multitude of emails after this - you can only image.......
Annie
Annie,
I must inform you that you have scored me incorrectly for 2010 and you have been told that by certain club reps. I pointed out the rule to you previously, Is this a personal thing?
Under Rider classification;
item (I) states. when a rider is moved up; the rider will be given credit for the races completed in the lower class, but that credit will be an average of how they finished the year in the new classes. I finished with an average of 2 and 1/2, 2 seconds and 2 thirds. Plus I had two races in the lower class, so I should have 6 races at the average score between 2nd and 3rd.
Therefore I believe I should receive the second place award in the 70 Expert class.
Please let me know if you do not agree.

Hi folks:
I am sure you remember the many messages we had back and forth regarding this issue! I definitely remember because it was the longest back and forth I have experienced. I deleted all the messages because they took up so much space.
Jerry Harpole:
He is Arizona and am asking you to reply to him. There is no way he will be given 2nd in the Expert 70 class!
Here are the finishers for the 70 Expert class:
1st Fred Mozingo, Ida
2nd Art Colvin, AB
3rd Jerry Harpole, AZ
4th Art More, AZ
5th Erv Rifenberg, SOt
At this point it has become "personal" and I have tooooo much respect and regard for all these riders who are in the top 3 of this class for supporting IOTMX for all these years to put that issue regarding average from the previous class even on the table. This is his first year as an Oldtimer and he needs to quit communicating with me directly regarding my incorrect scoring in the system. I have never been informed so blatantly that I made a mistake. Don't you all remember how I pleaded for your help back and forth in this specific situation.
I can't believe we are here again!
Annie
Here is more of his take on Oldtimers and me being wrong. This is the message that stirred me up.
Annie
Thanks for the response.
So others have the same information. this is not just out of the box.
History; At my third event as a 70 Amateur the riders Reps. voted to move me to Expert. I was allowed to race the last Expert moto to get Expert finisher points at that event. As you all know these races cost money to attend plus the travel cost. This event was at Montana and I was planning to race Washington.
However I was told that my two previous races would only count as Amateur and no credit would go towards future Expert races. I then cancelled Wash. and left.
Then after reading the rules and bringing it to the attention of my rider Rep. and Annie, we decided to continue racing some events.
The rule I am talking about is: Under Rider Classification item(I) it states when a rider is advanced after racing two events (rules also state that you can not advance someone after their 3rd event) "the rider will be given credit for the races completed in the lower class but, that credit will be an average of how they finished the year in the new class." That is the rule I am talking about.
If you review the year end results, I am scored as both an Amateur and as an Expert. Therefore I feel correct when I state the results are incorrect. I was never informed that IOTMX would not stand by their rules but instead score the racers however they want. If I had been informed that the rules were not being followed I would not have raced the last 3 races. My Rep. agrees with me and admits "you were screwed"
I think this is what the Reps. expect. I on the other hand don't agree and it appears that the decision has been made and finaled.
I just want to know why Annie is not following the rules and what is the position of the rider Reps. Then I will take my money and go away. That will at least make Annie happy. I am sorry that she is taking this so personal. Just explain why the rules don't matter.
Thank you for being forced to listen or read.

Hi Art,
I don't know you, or know anything about what happened. My only input is to allow the Reps to look at the facts and sort things out for you. You seem to be taking a strong position right out of the box. Someone is wrong and won't follow the rules is a very strong statement. "Make sure you are right! - then go ahead" Try to be patient and I expect things will be corrected if the facts and rules weigh out for you. There can easily be something going on here that you are not up to speed on.
As they say - you catch more flies with honey - use your Rep - that is why we have them. Just my suggestion - good luck.

We (SoCal) have no 2nd place award for Art More. We have a 4th place award for him because we used the official results given to us. I/we were not involved in whatever decision was reached to move him up (I believe at a race) but it appears this situation requires some sort of rule refinement at Congress, since there are conflicting rules, in case this scenario comes up again.

Hi Rich,
There is no problem on why I was moved up, just to clarify that issue.
Again the problem is that the rules states how the scoring is to be done on the races prior to being moved up and Annie refuses to follow the rules.
It is interesting that because I'm a first year rider that I "don't count as much as riders that have ridden longer"
I have server time as an AMA district steward and referee and the responsibility lies in doing the results properly.
I think it should be embarrassing to even have this issue come up. And the reason it has come up now is that I just saw the official results yesterday and what else can I say. This should not have happened. Who will be the next rider that the officials think is not deserving to be given an award?
I just ask you club Reps. to say if I am wrong or Annie is wrong, and then this can end.
