I see that the thread "New Split" has been removed. I have never removed a post from the Bench. I think Jeremiah made the decision.
Do you think we should require a password to access the Bench? Some of the other OTMX websites require a password and it can be done here. I don't care if anybody wants to see what we are rasaying. I didn't think anybody wanted to listen to what we have to rasay, anyway.
What do you think? Should we add a password requirement?
Bobby

I was not aware of the post being removed, not until I read your post bobby. As one of the posters referred to on 775 concerning the content of this material, I stand by my convictions. If I write it (say it), I will stand by it. I don't think I feel like I need a password to protect me from my opinions. I am not sure what Tim hopes to gain or accomplish with his 775 post or what his intent is...............this was only "old" members of a club discussing the most current happening in the "moto- community" and that's how things get fiqured out is by talking about them. Didn't really think we were bad boys for discussing current events. If the entire post had been transferred, the reader on 775 would have recognized that the complextion of the material had started to "relax" and members were starting to accept the possibility of "trying something new", but maybe that was premature also. You know, us "old guys" have always had a way of doing things and we have to get used to change just like anyone else. We do have alot of experience so sometimes we look at "others" as "tryilng to reinvent the wheel" and don't jump on the bandwagon quite as fast as the younger ones. Sorry, I know your question was about a password, not the post itself. I'm of the opinion I don't need one. Last thought: Why didn't Tim just post on our website and ask what's up? ? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Roster

Yes, I deleted the thread. While the comments made were within ones right to voice his opinion, the tone of one of the posts was very derogatory and could be slanderous if the statements were not true. I have no way to prove the statements were right or wrong and the easiest way to solve the conflict is to remove it and move on.
No I do not believe a password is needed. Several on this forum speak their minds and have a different sense of humor than most. (myself included) If we just remember that the whole world has access to these posts. Humor can be lost in the type and don't type anything that you wouldn't say to the persons face.

Ok, I'm in the dark here. I'VE become a frequent poster on this forum and I have a concern; has this forum become one for posts that are only politically correct? If so It's a sad situation! It's true that some of the posts here have been incendiary but they have been the opinions or humorous statements by registered posters. If non-OTMX Club Members don't have the insite, intelligence or sense of humor to decipher the intended message then Bench Racing should become restricted for use only by OTMX Members. Additionally, I have suddenly begun to receive PM's on 775 accusing me of making statements I have never made about people and area tracks in the Reno mx community. Is this part of this BS that's going on with some of the non-OTMX readers of this forum? Is somone confusing me with another person who posts on this forum? If so then consider this; I don't make closed end statements,i.e." I will never" etc. except in self deprecating attempts at humor. In closing let me say to the 775 PMer, don't pertended to have the intelligence to know what I'm thinking (only my wife can do that) and don't confuse me with others and don't attribute what you hear from others to me. Forgive my spelling there's an ad covering the spell checker.

Jim, when JB posted "several of our member speak their minds and have a different sence of humor than most" I think he had us in mind. To bad the world doesn't understand us, maybe when we are gone they will say, "oh, now I know what he was talking about. Now it makes sence." Until then, we will just have to settle for being the "old" guys that aren't up with the times. Pity, huh?.........................................Rooster

Recognizing that the decenting parties want to control what others say (as in Nazi or South American Dictators) I can see my participation in this forum is fast coming to a close. And to those who would delete a forum topic that's attained a life of it's own I say "ya can't please everybody all the time" G-bye.
