I know its not really Motocross, but the Virgina City GP is this weekend. Should be great weather to bounce off a few rocks and eat some dust.
There is also a Local race at Stead. Saturday is a $20 practice. It sounds like there will be a few vintage classes on Sunday.
There is also a OTHG national in Oatfield Ca. I have planned on attending this race all year, but now I am having doubts. I had 4 other guys who said they would go with, but now all have backed out. Then my wife's AC in her car went out....Hmmm do have her AC fixed or go race in Cali? The trip was cheap with 5 guys going, and it was affordable with 3, but just 1 doesn't sound like to much fun.
So what say you? VC? Stead? Oatfield?

JB, I contacted you via the website a couple of months ago about joining your club. I am racing the Oatfield this weekend and will be camping with four other OTHG members, you are more than welcome to camp with us. I am arriving there on Thursday and can make room if you want.

If you are an Old Timer, the place to be this weekend is MMX. It only makes sence, right? Right? Right?

I assume Rooster is baiting me into this one and I am going to take the high road. Ok one jab... You want me to make two trips to a race that I will not be able to help my clubs points out, and I may have to be riding in the support class.... OR I could go to a local race that is being put on by one of our own members, then only make one trip to MMX and still have fun riding with my homies both weekends. Did you forget they are having a vintage class at stead this weekend. ;D I could contest that a "True" old timer would stay here, save his money and race in the vintage class, or atleast go watch me try to tame the CR500 that has a new motor, new back tire and all new suspension.(That is if I dont go to Oatfield) PS. Is it just me or is there NO advertising for the Virgina City GP? seems like there used to be talk on MX775, or the radio, or something.

Se what happens when we have to many options for racing........if there were only "one show" then we would all be doing same thing. Not saying it's bad, just saying with so many options we all have our own personal agenda's to fill..............my vintage bike isn't ready, I have never ridden at mmx and the bank account is to small to do them all................Rooster

Busy couple days leading up to the weekend. Right when I would think I was ready for oatfield something else would come up. First is was my wifes car needed some repairs, then I get in the motorhome to start getting it ready and notice the brakes are week. Then there are no brakes at all!!!! Then after testing the propane I find 3 leaks caused by the blow out we had on the last trip.... Guess I wasn't going to make it to oatfield....
So my Dad and I went to stead. The track was muddy in places in the morning and I had fun experimenting with the ruts. I suck at ruts and jumps, so I was kinda dreading it. But after some tips from some of the other club members I found myself really enjoying the ruts and jumps. Ty added a step up to the big hill coming back towards the pits and it was AWESOME. Kinda intimidating at first, but after a few gradual attempts I found my self hitting the thing at full speed and landing quite a was down the the hill on the other side.
Thanks Ty and all the crew that help put the event on! I really enjoyed myself.
