Hi All,
Here are the minutes from the meeting in May. Things have progressed nicely on all fronts we were working on since the minutes. We should have plenty to talk about at the next meeting.
2012 May Minutes –
OTMX –

OLD BUSINESS:
Old Yeller – sold cab for $300.00. We have the opportunity to get rid of the rest of it. We need a title to take it to the scrap yard. There is a provision, we can turn it in as abandon vehicle, but it has to be on our property. $2,800 minus $600 for the tires, about $165 a ton. It would cost $150 to $200 to get the title.
Entity – waiting for the check from City of Fernley. Check was mailed to the wrong address. We have to wait another 7 days to put a stop payment on the check to get another one sent to us. We are still on a holding pattern.
Sierra National Report – 9 members were there – Greg Chappell, Gilbert Chick, Jeramiah Brown, Jim Patterson, James Lamont, Russ Held, Russ Wyant, Duane Quick and new member Karry Barners.
After the first set of motos, the track was great. They brought the wind with them though, there were long motos and a couple of crashes. There was a $2000 pro purse, they got 12 entries. They had chicken and pulled pork for dinner.
Easter practice report. – We lost money again on our practice. The biggest costs were the flaggers (11), fuel, and the water for the track. It’s the boards opinion that running 2 tracks cost too much while typical rider turn outs are under 120 per day.
For our prenational, we will run one track on Saturday and then race on Sunday. We are still planning on having 2 tracks for the national.
Racing for the month:
May 12 – Practice day for OTHG members at ex28
May 13 – SMRA Race at Winnemucca
May 19 – AMA National at Hangtown
May 26 & 27 – OTHG National
We are in need of helpers:
Web master, Sign-ups at the races, scoring helpers, Computer data entry, Lap Checkers. A few of the other promoters in the area have offered to let us bring in their crew, and a price is still being worked out.
We have an opportunity to pick up some equipment. For $3,500 we can get a starting gate package with 35 dates, 8-12 radios (with ear pieces), a set of caution flags, a set of finish line flags, ribbons, hay bale covers, 30 second board, Dog house for start, a printer and a few other miscellaneous items used around a race track.

Go with the purchase – Jim motions, Rick Lloyd seconds. Ayes Unanimous.
The room tax grant paperwork is due by May 21st, and need to meet with the board June 6th. They want samples of everything.

Choice Hotels – A block of rooms for 20% off. Trying to get two free rooms for the National.
Walmart – Potentially $300 per race and $1,000 to get banners, flags and magnets printed up.
JT Racing is interested. Trying to work something out, asked for 60 jerseys.
