I copied over a post from Layne with some info about the Gang National this weekend at the fern. This weekend is the OTHG national at the fern…Saturday and Sunday
We will be running support classes!!!
www.renoothg.com/PDFs/Forms/natentry.pdf
Support classes…Expert, intermediate, Jr/novice, beg and under 100cc
Come out and MOTO!! And have some fun. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ I know I'll be there, I hope to see a lot of our members show up in suport of the Gang. When your out there watching just cheer for the guys with an "R" on their bike! Its like the old days of the OTMX when you knew what chapter a guy was racing for by the letter of his bike.

I didn't pay my membership this year with the gang. No particular reason, just never got around to it...............So I thought it would be fun to go and ride the support class for this year. You know, just for kicks.............................well, not $70.00 worth of kicks, plus $10.00 a day gate fees. That would be $ 90.00 to ride support for the weekend. Can't see a big draw there.....................guess I'll just go out to the dry tracks and ride in the dust.
I know everything costs more to do now..................but, you won't bring up your support class riders at those prices........... Rooster

I couldn't agree more. Now you know how I feel going to a OTMX race and having to ride support class(30 Am). Pretty hard to justify the cost.
On the other hand I would still suggest that you come out and cheer for all us Reno guys that are going to take it to the Cali chapters. I love nothing more than railing around some guy that usually beats me on a hard pack track. Its pretty funny watching them pulling the front brake in sand, or the slow speed tip over when the wet practice sand sucks them down.... Ahhhh the home track advantage.

Hey Rooster,
The other dry tracks might not be so dusty after this rain. Maybe I'll see you out there?

Little update before bed. The reno guys are doing great. I think i heard that there was about 200 entries. The transponders are pretty cool. Its nice to know how much faster i need to go to be competitive in the next class.

After last years weather and Saturdays weather I heard some people saying that the weather in Fernley is always bad.... Then Sunday came a long and made them all believers. Little to no wind, lots of sun and some AWESOME motos. The gang stayed on top of the water, and it stayed perf all day.
About the time the Cali guys got used to the soft sand the Fern changed into the a rough handle bar ripping monster. It was great to see the locals hitting the crazy lines that only work late in the second motos. Even funner to hear people talking about "did you see that reno guy cut across the track? where was he going".
All in all it was a great weekend with some great guys. The Dinner and raffle were amazing. The track prep was top notch, and the trophies are pretty cool. I'm glad I got one!

I almost forgot to mention that I got to meet several of the clubs newest members. I was very proud of all of their rides and sportsmanship. Bob rode great and managed to win all 4 motos. Vince earned his Fernley badge after pushing his bike to the willows and up the finish line jump unassisted. That may not sound like much to some, but for those of us who have had to push their bikes back to the pits in the deep sand know how hard it is. Sonny rode the support class and did well against the young kids. Keith was doing great in one of his motos and stopped to help a downed rider.
I'm glad I got to chat with all of you and hope you find this forum useful. Don't be afraid to chime in.

I stood in the weather all weekend. I thought it was perfect Fernley weather. Blowing 40 on saturday and nice on sunday. The sand and the wind are what gives our guys the home track advantage. It would have been nice if people that come to the finish line to talk would bring a bottle of water with them. I got pretty dry out there. My lips are so chapped!
