Guess I was a bit late posting a notice for the Hawthorne SMRA race.... So how about a post race report.
The day started slow, seems like practice started an hour or more late, but once they got going the day seemed to move along smoothly. I got a new front tire and really tested it during practice and didn't really "practice", so the first moto was a bit interesting. I was going up to jumps wondering what was on the other side..... That's always a fun feeling when your racing on the same gate as the pro classes and you know they are all going to jump the whole thing. So I got last the first moto, But the second moto went much better. I was able to hang with the fast guys for about 2 laps. I love how that track just doesn't get rough. I've seen Fernley get much rougher in practice than that track got after the second moto. I was second to the last moto and the thermometer was reading 103!! Gotta love summer motocross.

PS. I loved their water truck that has the high sprayer. They could water the whole time and never drive on the track. Good job Hawthorne crew!
