The officers of Nevada Old Timers and NMXD are proud to announce the all NEW Northern NV, Motocross club called “CLUB MX775”.
“Club MX 775” will promote events at both Fernley as well as STEAD MX in cooperation with NMXD. Club MX 775 will be an ALL AGES, family oriented club – open to all.
Mission statement
To develop a family oriented motocross racing community that engages local business, government and our non-profit partners to enhance tourism impact and deliver a higher standard of professionally managed and regulated motocross use at various venues in Northern NV.
Club MX775775 will operate as non-profit motocross education, race promotion and venue development entity. We will provide a reliable racing and practice day schedule at both the Fernley and Stead MX facilities.
Our Task
The new club will fill the event dates that were previously promoted by Nevada Old Timers with the exception of one annual event which will be the OTMX International. The new club will represent the best interest of the Northern NV Motocross racing community working with the Fernley Lyons Club, the BLM and other similar agencies to further the livelihood of both the Fernley and STEAD MX facilities.
How we got here – where we are going
The OTMX membership and interest has dwindled to a point that a change was necessary. While the age limitations are great for the International series it seems to be limiting the people that want to be involved on a local level. With that in mind we have started this club with the intent that youth, families and older riders will be welcome to join. The kids that have stepped up and helped out at the track over the last few years have developed a sense of ownership and pride in the track and we would like them to be welcomed into a club atmosphere.
We put a ton of work into this project as well as made some significant investments over the winter in an effort to bring more value to the new Clubs events. Such as; ready for this??
Club MX775 has also partnered with Works Brand to provide RFID Transponders at the CLUB MX775 events at Fernley and STEAD MX!
To answer some basic questions;
Will you have meetings? Yes, we plan on meeting at 6:30pm the second Tuesday of each month at Round Table pizza at 801 W. 4th St (near keystone in the Sportsmans Corner shopping center)
When will the Club throw its first race or practice? Club MX775 first practice will be next weekend January 18-19th.
How many Events are you planning to do? We plan to put on at least 1 event every month.
Do the NV OTMX still exsist? Yes, The OTMX will still put on its International, and still has a contract with the Lions club to operate at the Fern. The OTMX will have the option to pay the new club to prep the track, similar to all the other OTMX club or prep it them selves.
Whats it going to cost to join this club? General membership will cost $25, and you will get your RFID transponder sticker, a T- shirt, and a membership card. We plan to have food and drinks at the meeting every month and will discuss other membership levels at the first few meetings
Whats the deal with Works Brand?
Part of the $25 dollar membership dues will get all Club MX775 members a RFID transponder sticker, and all Cub MX775 members will get free replacement stickers. Works Brand will also provide timing and scoring at our events at a flat rate vs there typical per entry charge.
I hope to see my fellow OTMX members at this new club meeting on Jan 14th at Round Table pizza on 4th st. 6:30 is when the food should be there.
