Does anyone know how many riders turned out for the race? I had a great time untill I crashed on the first jump in practice. I high-sided to keep from running over another rider who went down in front of me. I rode my first motos in great pain and went home at the end of the first round. I hope we can have a practice day before our race in April.

Larry; We looked at the results and did a quick total. Some riders got dnf's or dns's and they are not counted. I counted 389 riders on Sunday including the Quads but not counting the club race.
On Saturday there were 78 PeeWees and 60cc Beginner riders that rode.
That adds up to 467 riders for the weekend....unless I made a mistake (Hey, It could happen).
It was a good day. The weather was perfect and the track was in great shape. The gang worked extra hard to prepare the track and try to get everything done, but it is still winter and the days just are not long enough.
I am sorry to hear that you left early. I hope you can make the Old Timer Banquet on Saturday night.
We had our monthly meeting tonight. There was some discussion about a practice day, but no date has been set.

I will be at the banquet for sure. I didn't break anything, just all banged up. Everything on my left side hurts. I should be good for E-Street in two weeks. Jesse is hooked for sure! He had a great day saturday. He went 4-4=4 in the 50cc beg. He can't wait to race again. See ya saturday night.

Not to take anything away from anyone but I thought I paid my money to the Gang not SMRA. So I think that the Gang should get the credit not SMRA.

yes you paid the OTHG, they put the race on, Sierra Motocross is the sanctioning body for the riders, thanks so much for the positive input, we OTHG had a great time, it was a great track and good start for the race year, there was a original count of 526 riders with pee wees and club members included, thanks should go out to Sierra Motocross also, just think of all the cards to take care of for the new sanctioning body, hundreds of cards in one morning before pratice, Sierra is also volenteers like OTHG, hope to see eyeryone at E-Street

Funny I seem to remember that if we didn't get over 600 riders it was a bad turn out for the first race of the year?

Lets see. If I run the numbers right. 110 less riders @ 25.00 each compared to last year. -$ 2750.00 -$ 500.00 to join sierramx. Paying -$ 467.00 extra to sierramx. = way more than $ 3000.00 less in the bank for the party for the workers. who hoo.

We all work for free. As long as the riders had a good race we are happy! I know I am happy and I only got two corners of practice, three laps in my first moto and two laps in my first moto of my second class. Then I went home. All the work was worth it just to watch my son race for the first time!

A very good friend once told me, Liars can't figure and figures don't lie." I do remember a 600 rider race at Fernley YEARS ago. Yes, it was a record...definately not the norm. Lets quit trying to see "who has the biggest one" and go racing. I had a ball Saturday and Sunday and look forward to many more. Heck, some promoters might have tiny turnouts in this series, but I bet everyone has fun! Lets use this as bench racing, not bit$h racing ;D ;D ;D

Boy am I glad I wasn't at that 600 rider race. Ya Know That would have been a good TRIVIA question! I always thought that 400 to 450 was a great turn out. Heck any time you can go out and have a good time with friends and family it dont matter what kind of turn out it is. its all about having fun. And fun it is!
