First of all, a big heart filled thank you to all the wonderful people that worked their tails off for the last few months. The club members and the non-club members alike. The Fernley/Wadsworth lions set a new sales record for the cook shack this last weekend. Another big thank you needs to go out to all the business that supported this event, I don't want to single anybody out, but Reno motor sports came through with the biggest donation to the Lions club ever. R.M.S. donated a water truck to the Lions club!! Huge thank you!! Most of the special events worked, and some fizzled. The national guard could not come out on Saturday due to a prior commitment at McQueen high school. They probably could not set up the rock wall due to the wind anyways, but they did manage to get a color guard out on Sunday, I love to watch those guys, They make fell proud to be an American. And the wind also put a kibosh on our Bonn fire, Fire Marshall Bill came out and shut us down on that. I thought that the vintage race on Saturday was the best race of the weekend. Russ rode that 360 Yamaha to perfection for the win. The guy on the Husky made my heart stop when he stood that thing straight up on the start. But watching Jeff Mculla (action awards) Bubba scrub that Hodaka was the funniest thing I ever saw.The karaoke party on Saturday night was a blast. The young kid that won it was just fantastic, He had the crowd on their feet roaring with his rendition of fight for your right to party. Rose Walsh won the chili cook off with some of the most interesting chili I ever had. And she also donated her winnings back to the Lions club, want a fantastic lady. Sunday had some of the best racing I have ever seen. All in All It was one of the best weekends I have ever had at the races for a long time, Thank you all very much!! P.S. Good luck and take care to Mark Cody.
